Career Opportunities

There are many career opportunities for licensed estheticians on Oahu, including positions in spas, salons, cruise ships, and dermatology offices. While jobs are available, the reality is that the market can be competitive, especially for newly licensed estheticians. Experience is important, and many employers seek candidates with strong hands-on skills and a clear understanding of client care.

So, is it possible to succeed as an esthetician and secure stable employment after obtaining your license?

At HICA, the answer is yes.

At HICA, obtaining a license is only the beginning. Our education is designed to prepare students not only to enter the workforce, but also to stand out within it. We train students to develop strong technical expertise while building the confidence to establish their own businesses or secure professional positions in spas, salons, and wellness settings.

HICA’s exclusive Kao Lomi Lomi facial treatment is an all-hand technique performed entirely without machines, using hand pressure, rhythm, and breath. Because it does not rely on equipment, this treatment allows graduates who wish to start their own business to do so with fewer financial barriers and greater flexibility. At the same time, the depth of skill required makes it a highly valued service for employers seeking estheticians with refined touch, strong client connection, and wellness-based expertise.

Kao Lomi Lomi facial treatment goes beyond addressing facial muscles and fascia. Through intentional touch, it deepens breathing, releases tension, and calms the nervous system. In addition to visible benefits such as lifted features, improved skin tone, and reduced wrinkles, clients experience a sense of security, lightness in the face and head, mental clarity, and the return of natural expression. This holistic approach reflects the growing integration of beauty and wellness within the industry.

Graduates of HICA leave with versatile, in-demand skills that support multiple career paths. Whether working for an established spa, advancing within the wellness field, or creating an independent practice, students are equipped with the technical ability, professional judgment, and confidence needed to build a sustainable and fulfilling career as an esthetician.
