Our founder, Tatsuko Morimoto began her journey in 1974, dedicating herself to the art of massage therapy. After establishing a renowned massage school, she expanded her vision in 2008 by launching Hawaii Cosmetology Academy (HICA), with the mission of providing comprehensive education to prepare students for successful careers in the beauty industry.
Our esthetician school is fully licensed by the state of Hawaii and the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, ensuring a high standard of training and certification.
At our school, you will gain the skills and confidence needed to excel in the beauty industry. With extensive hands-on experience in the most popular techniques, you’ll be prepared to thrive in prestigious salons across the region.

Our Mission
Our multidisciplinary approach combines both technical skills and practical experience to provide education that prepares our graduates to thrive in the real world. Since opening our doors, many of our alumni have successfully entered the field and realized their career goals.
Our mission is to guide students towards success as professional estheticians.
Becoming an esthetician requires more than just technical skills; it’s about understanding what it means to truly care for others and make them feel good. This is a vital role in today’s world, and we are proud to help our students develop the skills they need to excel. Our training goes beyond simply teaching the knowledge required for licensure—we focus on developing well-rounded professionals.
What is skincare? What does it mean to heal through beauty? What does it take to be a successful esthetician? Our goal is to help you discover the answers to these questions and support you on your journey. We provide the best resources to ensure our graduates are equipped to succeed in today’s competitive industry.
